A witness who’s being heralded as “Ukraine’s Snowden”, says he was a former employee at the Dnepropetrovsk Air Force Base and reports seeing three Su-25 fighter jets armed with air-to-air weapons depart the field, roughly an hour before the Malaysian Airliner of Flight MH-17 was shot down.
Only one later jet returned, with its weapons missing (the other two were reportedly shot down).
Immediately upon exiting the cabin, the pilot was heard saying, “Not the right plane.”
The said said the pilot seemed very shaken and surmised that, “With the other two planes being shot down, he may have mistaken the Boeing for a combat plane.”
The identity of the witnesses is currently being kept secret because he still has family members in Ukraine.
