Almost everyone knows about the famous Rio Grande, or “Big River,” that divides Mexico and the United States. But sadly, more obscure is the even greater river — that of cash and high-level firepower, illegal in Mexico, south; and that of humans and narcotics, north. With so many powerful, illicit agendas in play, is no wonder that U.S. security contractors have been caught training Mexican authorities in torture techniques.
Al Jazeera’s “Inside USA” travels to Mexico to look at the the drug war going on there, and to examine how the United States is involved. The bodies are piling up — several thousand killings so far this year alone.
