NOTICE: THIS STORY HAS BEEN CHALLENGED BUT THE CHALLENGE SOUNDS AS HOAXY AS ANYTHING ELSE…

This ancient Hindu mandala-shaped ‘crop circle’, which had been carved with mind-boggling precision into a packed dirt, dry lake bed, located in a desert region of eastern Oregon.

The spectrum of reactions to this piece ranged from joyous wonderment to anger and demands of a retraction, as there is an Oregon-based artist who claims to have created this amazing formation. You can read his blog about it here.

If the artist is to be believed, this was accomplished “without machines or modern tools except binoculars and a simple hand plow.” But his account is a bit inconsistent because he also mentions “sharpened poles as tools,” in addition to an “old fashioned garden cultivator pulled by three crew members and steered by the fourth.” So, which was it?

The person who posted the clip to YouTube claimed that the formation itself, was 13.3 miles wide, while the artist claims that it was just “1/4 miles across”, containing “over 13 miles of lines.”

The artist’s blog post about this feat is copyrighted and dated unspecifically, sometime between 1995 and 2003 and (although re-posted elsewhere on June 22, 2013).

The YouTube post is dated May 4, 2013, although both allege that the formation was created in 1990, with the YouTuber adding the date of August 10. Make of this what you will.

More and more, this whole thing begins to look like a hoax of some stripe, whether intentional or not, on many levels – although perpetrating a hoax was certainly not my intention and possibly not even that of the uploader of the YouTube clip in question.

In my opinion, the laser-perfection of this thing bespeaks something more like a DARPA weapon test, disguised as a “desert crop circle”. But that’s just paranoid little me (and actually the view of several others on my list, as well). Many others expressed different views, predominantly, that this formation was proof of extra-terrestrial technology and/or ET involvement.

The fact is, I have no idea if the above-cited artist is lying or telling the truth and/or HOW this large and extremely precise formation was created. All I know is that it is very thought-provoking.

Let me make something very clear. It is part of the disclaimer that appears on my homepage and in the signature of every
reply I make to viewer feedback – and as of last week, it also appears toward the bottom of every newsletter that I send, as it cannot be re-stated enough, even though it is very evident that many of my viewers never read a word that I write in these newsletters and go straight to the video – which is totally their right, if they wish.

I’ll reiterate this to myself, if to nobody else!!! I am NOT in the business of persuading you or anyone else to believe anything that is linked to from my site.

Your mind is your own – draw your own conclusions from the clips that I send – that’s YOUR business, not mine.

13.3 miles of lines were carved into a dry-lake bed in Oregon. What was discovered looked like a Crop Circle in the middle of the Desert…This Geoglyph was a perfect “Sri Yantra Mandala Formation”.

This ancient symbol was so precise it was flawless…Each line was 10 inches wide and 3 inches deep carved into extremely hard compact dirt that is very difficult to dig in…

No cars where seen for miles, no tire tracks were seen for miles…No footprints were seen at the site or anywhere around it…No apparent signs of tools were used…And no one was seen in the area…

I don’t see any dirt from the 13.3 mile long 10 inch wide hole that was carved into the desert at a depth of 3 inches…There must have been a lot of dirt so it begs the question, where is the dirt?

The close up-photo of the 4 lines looks clean, with no extra dirt laying around outside the ditch that was made from each of these lines being dug out of the desert…The whole formation is about a quarter of a mile wide…This happened on August 10, 1990…
