We need to define our terms before proceeding.
Liberalism is an extension of humanism which emerged as a way of thinking in the western 15th century about our reality and who we are as a species. It was the result of the failure of autocratic Papal Christianity to satisfy the longing of our species for freedom. This is sometimes refered to as the Renaissance, though there is reason to think maybe that is a smoke screen misdirecting attention away from blaiming the Papal cell in Rome for cruel rule.
Humanism and classic liberalism attempted to return to the interpretation of the Decaloge according to the sermon on the mount, and other Testamental sayings of Jesus and his apostles of record. According to many this led to the Reformation, but I disagree, the Papacy had waged war against this within it’s own establishment halls for generations. Classic liberalism embraced both the Decalogue and Jesus’ interpretation, thereby providing liberty of conscience within the boundary markers set forth in the Decalogue.
What happened? Marx crept into liberal thinking under the guize of Progressivism, and in my lifetime progressivism has completly eaten up one political party in the US, and is eating away at the other through the university, the media and over-reaching central government mandates. In other words western culture is headed right back to where it was under feudal land lords who were held accountable to one man, the Pope and his courtiers. That system took a turn for the worse at the end of the life of Charlemagne when the Papacy seized civil authority over the remnant of the Roman Empire.
This time the difference is so far, minus the Pope of Rome. In his stead is a network of rich men oligarchs coalesced in certain alliances, which is another matter for another time.
Classic, righteous liberalism is not the problem we are led to believe by reactionaries. Frankly speaking we all ought to be that kind of liberal as it provides normal life for normal people and a way out of the confusion of abnormal people. It is also far less expensive in the way of saving lives and providing hope for the future no matter how screwed up we may be.
History proves all efforts to standardize and homogenize humanity are doomed to fail! It also proves that for a period of time, liberalism provided freedom of conscience within the bounds set forth in Christian scriptures. Bounds by the way, even church leaders are setting aside and desecrating in ways unimaginable not long ago.
Since 1990, 90% of all awarded Masters & PhD degrees from American Universities in science and technologies were won by foreign students. Consequently, 99% of all the required reading study materials for science & technology students is worthless BS. Don’t look over there, spend all your time looking over here, to waste your time memorizing useless BS so that you can pass the tests. Of course, we didn’t want to give them information so that they could learn how to make chemical or biological weapons, or atomic bombs, or other weapons of mass destruction, or how to produce free energy, or learn about real nutrition and medical technologies that make Rockefeller Medicine obsolete. “It’s all about the economy stupid.” e.g., The fast growing global crowd of ‘Electric Universe’ scientists say that ‘Einstein Was Wrong’ (search it), & that Big Bang, Black Holes, Relativity, Dark Energy, Dark Matter, and so many other things are all total BS. No machinist or carpenter has ever built, or will ever build anything with more than 3 dimensions. It’s a waste of time dwelling in that world. You don’t help society by wasting others’ time with that BS. If a concept truly produces good fruit, then support it. Or just get a vaccine and shut up.
