    Look at this little froggie! He fits on a dime with room to spare!

    So cute!

    This species of frog from Papua New Guinea discovered in 2009 has now been formally described as Paedophryne amauensis.

    At 7.7 mm (0.30 in) in length, it is the world’s smallest known vertebrate.

    A frog that can sit on your little finger’s nail with room to spare has been crowned the world’s smallest vertebrate, out-tinying a fish that got the title in 2006. The adult frogs are about three-tenths of an inch long, found in New Guinea.
