This History Channel show features Idaho State University Professor of Anatomy, Dr. Jeff Meldrum and Canadian wildlife biologist, Dr. John Bindernagel. Both scientists take the reports and evidence of “bigfoot” seriously.

Although Dr. Bindernagel has recorded over 200 bigfoot eyewitness accounts, there are over 2,000 such reports from across North America.

Dr. John Bindernagel says here, “I accept the sasquatch as an existing North American mammal…People encounter sasquatches, if not on a weekly basis in North America, at least once a month.”

The greatest concentrations of sightings are in the northwestern coast and mountain ranges of the US and western Canada.

Dr. Meldrum at the University of Idaho is of the opinion that the fossil remains of an ancient giant ape called Gigantopithecus may one day be proven to be the ancestor of the elusive bigfoot of today. The only Gigantopithecus fossils found so far have been in Asia, consisting of teeth and jawbones.
