J. Craig Venter developed the first cell controlled by a synthetic genome. A 15-year process toward this goal began in 1995, when Venter and his team for the first time in history sequenced the first two genomes.
He has been through a long journey to understand the most basic elements of life, areas where no one has ever been before. He’s learning how the genetic code was first “written.”
