On the American educational system approach to developing a critical mindset, here is an area where they fail miserably – Critical analysis of literature. Instead of approaching the analysis by using higher order thinking processes like comparison-contrast with other works, how literary conventions such as synecdoche and synesthesia are being used, they tell the students to respond with what the reading means to them, how does it make you feel? What personal memories does it recall? This is called Reader Response and it was supposed to help readers engage more with the reading, yet it doesn’t give the reader the tools to make adequate syntheses and evaluation based on the tools or principles that have been used for centuries. Same in the field of art…Instead of teaching students about such principles as dominance, harmony, contrast, value, abstraction, they turn students loose on projects and then praise the daylights out of them for having marked up the paper helter skelter
All due respect for these two dear ladies, but this is all about manipulation and control of neighbor.
From their perspective and others perspectives. That is humanistic, materialistic and mischievous. Thats all secularism is! That’s how it solves human problems. There are other ways such as offering a Hindu way or a Muslim way and we could name many more ways, all involving manipulation of human minds. But western culture and American culture is on a primitive level a Christian culture, which the secularist is desperately attempting to reroute with the aid of those other cultures. Open borders is the natural outcome of this mischief.
Each of these ways defines moral behavior for the intended purpose of living in peace with neighbors, enjoying family and the fruits of one’s own labors which brings great satisfaction. Why can’t secularists see that? When the secularist tinkers with this, what do they expect? Order, peace, happiness? Foolishness, confusion and destruction is the fruit of their devilishness! Confusion and destruction by force of arms when it doesn’t go “forward” as planned, as hoped!
It’s doomed to backfire!
Unless they can change human nature entirely and that is what this present confusion is all about – artificially changing the nature of mankind! By force! By getting into peoples heads and now their bodies and manipulating them – by executive orders, by mandates, politically motivated national emergencies by force of politically charged law and military enforcement! The US and the States Constitutional guarantees be damned! The oaths of office be damned, away with all of that, the sky is falling and everyone must obey……ME!
There is nothing new under the sun, whatever has been before will be again, when people don’t learn history or from it.
I would just add to your point here, from the idealogical elite’s perspective, they are committed to bringing all the principles that have made scientific discovery and technological invention wildly successful, to bear upon the unruly, disorganized, chaotic, self-centered and therefore entirely too provincial and primitive lives of Americans who they believe have too long wallowed in materialism and have become fabulous load bearers for a sky rocketing GDP, but too selfish, sloppy and lazy to evolve and become useful to the development of a higher order society. The term “useless eaters” is derived from this perspective. And, according to pragmatic rationality, they are 100% correct. For instance, in order to get an International Space Station up in orbit as an advance guard for off-world progress, every scintilla of the material components must have absolute integrity and accuracy, including mean time between failure values so they know how to anticipate a break in the chain of performance. The result is an invention that dazzles the mind and produces hard and fast result. But, it seems to me that they have come to the conclusion that the lower and middle classes should be reconstituted as useful populations into one slave labor class that is manageable and productive in the way that any system of technology is, to serve the more highly-evolved intellects of a ruling elite. To do that, major changes must be foisted upon this middle class to break them of their American Dream hopes and expectations, for instance. All of the hopes and dreams that the majority of Americans have come to expect from a life lived in this country must be gradually disappointed and rearranged so that they are willing to adopt the new paradigm.
