This 1967 film, produced by the Food and Drug Administration is about the effects and therapeutic uses of hallucinogenic drugs lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD). Three years after this film was made, the US government made it illegal to manufacture, buy, possess, process or distribute these substances without a DEA license.
Studies of a variety of hallucinogens are ongoing in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, end-of-life anxiety, cluster headaches and drug addiction at UCLA, NYU and Johns Hopkins University.
