This animated clip the journey that the Curiosity mission spacecraft has been taking on its way to Mars. It is scheduled to land on the Martian surface in August 2012.
The Curiosity rover is about five times larger than the Spirit or Opportunity Mars Exploration Rovers and carries more than 10 times the mass of scientific instruments.
