The shooter, who was killed by the Secret Service has been identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20 years old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
The shooter was initially identified as Antifa member, Mark Violets and was later pronouced to be Thomas Crooks but at 2AM this morning, Patriot Voice posted that the actual shooter was one Maxwell Yearick, who was arrested in 2016 for being involved in an Anti-Trump protest in Pittsburgh and who was sentenced to 3-12 months in Allegheny County Jail. It appears that the identity of the shooter is being deliberately confused.
The FBI says they were “surprised” Crooks was able to get so many shots fired at Donald Trump, piercing his upper right ear but otherwise leaving him unscathed.
One rally attendee was killed and another was severely injured.
The BBC interviewed an eyewitness who says he saw the shooter on the roof of a nearby outbuilding.
CBS interviewed this eyewitness, who echoed the comments of the BBC interviewee.
Elon Musk has called for the head of the Secret Service and for the head of Trump’s security detail to be fired, immediately.
ah but it was still the “crooks!” (there’s just so many’ve ’em) — maybe multiple shooters?
