Within the course of just a few years Barbara Ehrenreich began to consistently encounter an ideology of positive thinking. And the corporatocracy has been trying to apply that ideology to the people it tosses aside and downsizes.
They’re sent to support groups or networking groups where the message is, hey, it’s not bad to be laid off; it’s actually an opportunity; you will come out of it much better!
The key to getting a job, they want you to believe, is not having skills or knowing anything. It’s having the “right attitude.”
Of course it’s all delusional.
