In Part 2 of ‘Iraq: After the Americans,’ Sebastian Walker explores the increased incidence of deformed babies in Fallujah, which many feel is due to the untold tons of depleted uranium munitions unleashed there by US forces.

The issue of States’ Rights is also explored, as businesses in Iraqi Kurdistan enter into contracts with foreign partners, much to the disapproval of Iraq’s federal government, of whom all agree on at least one thing: that it is dysfunctional.

Correspondent Sebastian Walker first went to Baghdad in June 2003 and spent the next several years reporting un-embedded from Iraq. In the second part of this Fault Lines series, he returns and travels from Erbil to Fallujah to find out what kind of future Iraqis are forging for themselves.
