TRANSCRIPT
President Miguel Dรญaz Canel: In correspondence with the consistent policy that the Cuban Revolution has always presented, under the direction of the General of the Army, as a historical leader of our revolution and mine, and collegiated with the main instances of the Party, the Government and the Cuban State, Cuban officials recently held conversations with representatives of the United States Government to seek, through dialogue, the possible solution to the bilateral differences that exist between our two nations.
These exchanges have been favored by international actors. And here, I want to say that whenever we have been in tense situations in relations with the United States, efforts appear to look for channels of dialogue, to look for conversations.
It is not the first time that Cuba has entered into a conversation of this type. I believe that the most recent example was the way in which the General of the Army conducted the conversations with President Obama in a very recent stage, and we all know the results of those conversations.
Well, now also some groups of international actors have favored the development of these indicators.
What are the purposes that we are following with these conversations, with the purposes that we have raised? Well, first of all, to determine what are the bilateral problems that need a solution.
