Before the Apollo astronauts could journey to the moon, they first needed to learn how to fly, work and live in space.
During the mid-’60s, astronauts flew an aggressive series of two-man missions into low-earth orbit in order to gain the experience needed to make a success the upcoming Apollo program.
The name of the program was Project Gemini.
