It’s long been assumed that robots will eventually take almost all our jobs.

This is true even of the jobs of military fighters.

The newest arms race involves unmanned vehicles, large and small, that are mastering rugged terrains, choppy seas (both above and below) and windy skies.

What happens when two nuclear-armed states engage in a direct robots-on-robots battle? How does one win that kind of conflict – and when does losing one justify starting one that uses living, breathing human beings?

The removal of direct human experience is opening up a Pandora’s box of ethical questions about a subject that is already rife with ethical questions. These are questions we will learn the answers to in the early 21st century.

    • I visualize ongoing wars between machines, the future of video games but in deadly wars with NO human intervention. To what end?
When you take Humanness out of the equation what do you have and why would Humans be needed.??
The end of the Planet would be the result with machines eventually controlling themselves and blowing up Earth..

    • This sounds like a fulfillment of the prophecy found in Joel, Chapter 2, Verses 3 through 9. They will not be hurt if they fall on the sword. (Verse 8) There are other characteristics mentioned in those verses which might apply to robots.
