John Clarke and Bryan Dawe have been producing funny “Who’s on First?”-type comedy sketches on Australian TV about current events for 25 years.
This clip was posted six years ago but it’s probably more relevant today than it was, back then!
In their comedic back-and-forth, they calculate the cost of the European debt crisis. Although the facts and figures seemed like a joke, they reflected exactly what was happening.
Without all the financial mumbo-jumbo, anyone can understand that what was happening was inevitably going to lead to the EU’s current economic crisis.
It boils down to this: “How can broke economies lend money to other broke economies, who haven’t got any money because they can’t pay back the money the broke economy lent to the other broke economy and shouldn’t have lent it to them in the first place, because the broke economy can’t pay back?”
