This clip has a vitality and a credibility to it, that could only come with a case that had over 400 witnesses. The 1989 UFO flap in Voronezh, Russia is the biggest UFO case ever supported by a national government in history.
That particular government was the Soviet Union and it was in the middle of collapse. If the State-run TASS News Agency hadn’t publicized it, and continuously maintained that it was a non-fiction story, we wouldn’t know too much about this case today.
After several years of glasnost (“glas” = transparent, “nost” = knowledge), the Soviet Union was in rapid decline. Moscow’s decision to publicize this story, rather than to cover it up was most likely a political maneuver. It’s as if Moscow was thumbing its nose at the US’ (continued) policy of maintaining UFO secrecy.
Some readers will recall the Phoenix Lights case of 1997. It would later emerge that Arizona Governor, Fife Symington witnessed these events along with thousands of his constituents, however, he was clearly not allowed to practice glasnost as a public official of the US Government. Some may remember that whole rubber-suited alien press conference.
When Fife was no longer in government, he came clean. People talk about “Disclosure” as if it hasn’t happened. It *has* happened in several countries, just not by the United States Government.
Americans are so isolated and provincial, despite being made up of people from all over the world. It’s a wonder that this withhold persists.
The late Laurance Rockefeller (d. 2004) financed some prominent UFO Disclosure proponents, including Dr. Steven Greer, Dr. John Mack, Stephen Bassett’s Paradigm Research movement to stop the “Truth Embargo”.
Many UFO skeptics and Evangelists, alike see the Rockefeller-backed Disclosure Movement as an instrument that will be used to bring on the New World Order (since that’s what the Rockefellers are all about, right?).
From personally having known Mack and others mentioned above, their observations were that Laurance was the black sheep of the family and that he was a genuine truth-seeker. This will remain to be seen, in the fruits of his surviving proteges…
