Vault 7: CIA’s Umbrage Group Faked ‘Russian Hacking’

The Vault 7 leaks published yesterday provide clear evidence for how a particular branch of the CIA may have planted fake ‘evidence’ on Trump’s communications, in an attempt to incriminate him and his surrogates as being agents of the Russian Federation and proponents of ‘Russian Hacking’.

Quoting directly from the summary page of yesterday’s data dump:

“The CIA’s Remote Devices Branch’s UMBRAGE group collects and maintains a substantial library of attack techniques ‘stolen’ from malware produced in other states including the Russian Federation.

“With UMBRAGE and related projects the CIA cannot only increase its total number of attack types but also misdirect attribution by leaving behind the “fingerprints” of the groups that the attack techniques were stolen from.”

Dave Hodges breaks it down in this short clip.

Many of us have long known that you can spoof and fake the source of digital communications but now we have evidence of the methods for how a branch of the CIA has achieved this.

The Vault 7 revelations will really cause us to ask who’s really in charge of the USA. The publisher of NorthCrane.com asks, “If WikiLeaks was controlled by the CIA (which according to Vault 7 – they can at anytime), wouldn’t WikiLeaks actual purpose be more of a method of disclosure for the government?  What actual revelations of WikiLeaks has made a lasting impact on society?

“Podesta is at large. Snowden is in exile. Manning had his genitals cut off. Hillary isn’t in jail. Debbie Wasserman Schultz still sits in congress.”
