This is a short segment from the January 7th, 2026 episode of Nino’s Corner with Juan O Savin, in which Juan tells Nino that the impending “Cuban Missil Crisis” he’s been warning about may end up being more like a Chinese Missile Crisis, because China is running Cuba.
Juan says that China has been covertly sending high-tech components for long range missile guidance systems to Iran and that the US military recently boarded a ship off the coast of Sri Lanka that was moving these components to Iran, as one of several small shipments, with this one valued at about $5 million. Such missiles could be launched at sea on targets in the US or someplace else.
He then casually drops that TWA 800 was hit by an Iranian missile that China had helped them to retrofit and that thirty years later, such repurposed long-range missiles remain a threat all over the place.
The plane crashed in the Atlantic, right in front I was renting a beach shack on Fire Island with a group of friends. The wreckage washed up on our beach for the rest of the summer.

Nino: Juan, what’s going on right now? We just seized a Russian oil tanker and China’s giving threats to America right now. Is this the Cuban Missile Crisis developing?
Juan: Well, along those lines, let me just tell you one other thing that is not out there, just the tiniest little bit: China’s been sending the guidance components for – very technical components; hard to manufacture; a lot of electronics that are just very hard to do – they’ve been sending them covertly to Iran.
Some of them are fairly good-sized. And so, we just boarded a ship in the last day off the coast of Sri Lanka. They kind of shadow their movements and they hand cargo off between ships at sea and things like that. And we’d been following, it came out of China and they were moving these components to Iran and lots of small shipments.
This was valued at about $5 million. And it allows Iran, then to do these long range missiles that were threatening Israel and other locations, which could be launched at sea on other targets like here in the US or someplace else.
Remember, TWA 800 was hit by a missile that had been reprocessed a bit, an A-51 missile. Something that we had, that China helped Iran to repurpose, because after the Iran-Contra thing, we dismantled the parts that we left in their military parts.
So these long-range missiles are a threat all over the place. And not just Israel, Israel is just one place, OK? And with choking-off Iran, they could do stuff all over the world.
So we just went on board the ship, we pulled out the cargo and then melted it in place, made a beautiful piece of art with all the melted components and everything else, unusable ever again.
And then, we left the ship and left them go on their way, because it was illegal cargo, under – you can’t proliferate with certain types of arms other places in the world. And so, that’s what China’s doing.
It’s a type of “Cuban Missile Crisis”, only it’s a Chinese Missile Crisis, because again, China’s running Cuba. So this is Cuban Missile Crisis 2.0. The thing is, we’re interdicting these things that are illegal.
That Russian tanker was carrying oil that is sanctioned. It can’t do that…But if you look at that tanker, it’s sitting very high in the water, so it didn’t have a lot of oil on it, if any at all. What was it also carrying that was more valuable than a bunch of oil when it snuck away from Venezuela?
And we have other vessels, that one that you’re talking about, there, Nino, the Russians sent a sub to be a scarecrow against us doing anything. Well, we didn’t send a ship that they could blow out of the water. We sent helicopters. And if they wanna mess with those guys, we got answers. This is a standoff.
I’ve told your audiences numerous times, we’re going to go head-to-head. We’re gonna do a standoff. We’re going to stop the bullsh¡t, “a New Sheriff in Town”.
We’re going to engage Russia and China through sanctions. There’s certain military things that you cannot proliferate. And by the way, our NATO partners that are doing stuff that is not stuff we all agreed to.
So you’ve got multiple locations that are bringing the world to the brink of war or continuing war to the flog to decks, where the inaction of prior US administrations and other governments around the world has allowed these things to fester.
Trump is the new sheriff in town and we’re going to enforce existing treaties, anti-proliferation things. We’re going to stop the death, stop the killing. Bring it to a head.
Nino: So would you say that, I mean, are we going to make a move on Colombia and Cuba pretty soon? Is that what’s next on the hit list, the Trump Hit List? Or is China gonna bring in their fleets and try to stop us from making any more moves?
Juan: Remember, Trump spent a lot of months, a long time getting Venezuela kind of roped off, getting a rope line around it and turning the thumbscrews before he ever acted to take out Maduro and to make sure that we had all the legal stuff in place that everybody knew – they can challenge all they want, but Trump will win in the international courts.
And by the way, let me just add this thing. This is really, really, really, really important in this whole context: They’re going to say – the Leftists, these other governments, people in the US even – that we didn’t have a legal authority to go after Maduro, because he was the elected President of Venezuela. Where’s that going to lead?
Nino: Ooh, 2020!
Juan: These people are [stupid], what it’s going to really do, Nino, is this: It’s going to bring the most important subject of all. The Number One of the two things that Trump is going to do before he leaves this world; is going to be 1. Get fair elections and 2. Get honest money. Honest elections, honest money.
Nino: What’s going to happen with Maduro?
Juan: “Maduro is the elected President! He’s the people’s choice!” It’s going to force – “Throw me into that lettuce patch. Please throw me into that lettuce patch, OK?”
“No, no, no, don’t, don’t! Really, I don’t want to be thrown in the lettuce patch!
They’re going to make a big deal about how Maduro is the “Elected President of Venezuela!” and we’re going to use that to show that he was never legally there.
The bus driver! You know, Maduro was just a bus driver. Chávez chose him because he was controllable. And more important, it wasn’t actually even Chávez. It was Cuba and China chose the bus driver, because they could control him!
Nino: Wow, Juan.
Juan: He was not a genius. He’s just a bus driver.
