From first-time filmmaker Jay Irving, ‘The Night Cook’ is the story of George Golias, a charming and eccentric Czech immigrant who lives alone with his eight beloved cats behind Vest Lunch restaurant , a popular greasy spoon diner in Toronto where he works the graveyard shift. Estranged from his family for 37 years, George decides to return to the Czech Republic to unravel the events that led him to flee his homeland in 1968, and to finally face his past.
