In a recent exclusive interview with Tucker Carlson, Devon Archer, a former business associate of Hunter Biden, opened up about his experiences working with the Biden family. The conversation touched on various aspects, including Hunter Biden’s skills, the Biden brand, and the influence of Joe Biden in their business dealings.

Hunter Biden’s Skills and the Biden Brand

When asked about Hunter Biden’s specific skills, Archer explained:

“He had a career in Washington, graduated DL law school, and had a very big network in DC and brought that know-how and understanding of DC and ultimately the Biden brand.”

Archer emphasized that Hunter’s connections and the Biden brand were key components in their business.

Hunter’s Business Background and Private Equity

Carlson questioned whether Hunter would have been involved in the businesses without his father’s government position. Archer responded:

“It seemed like a new and interesting network for us to expand our business. Whether he could have been in that position, it’s hard for me to speculate.”

He acknowledged that the Biden brand added power, especially when Joe Biden was Vice President.

Regulatory Insight and Selling Access

Discussing Hunter’s understanding of regulation, Archer said:

“I think that he led a team that had a sophisticated understanding of regulation.”

Carlson pointed out that the business of Washington seemed like selling access, to which Archer agreed:

“Understanding a regulatory environment means selling access at the end of the day. That’s how I interpret it.”

Joe Biden’s Involvement

Archer revealed that Joe Biden would sometimes call in with clients present on a speakerphone:

“Over a 10-year partnership, I would say the number I’m going with is 20.”

He confirmed that Joe Biden knew there were Hunter’s business associates in the room during these calls.

Personal Encounters with Joe Biden

Archer mentioned meeting Joe Biden around 20 times during his relationship with Hunter. He also shared a personalized letter from Joe Biden, thanking him for their partnership and expressing enthusiasm about their business prospects.

Conclusion: Too Close to the Sun

Reflecting on their business journey, Archer likened their situation to Icarus, flying too close to the sun:

“It was too good to be true, and the connections were too close, and the scrutiny too much. It ended up destroying a lot of business over a number of years.”

The interview provided a rare and candid insight into the workings of Washington, the influence of the Biden brand, and the complex interplay between business and politics.
