Military history buffs, in particular might get a kick out of watching this movie.
The film was recommended to me by a subscriber who was the member of a team during the 1970s whose duty it was to launch their five ICBMs. Each missile carried three warheads so they were in command of 15 nukes.
He says that in this film, every detail in the procedure for the launching of a nuclear attack seems too perfect to have been achieved by actors and he suspects that a Minute Man crew similar to his own played out the roles in this film, rather than actors trained to play the roles. He says the same goes for the bomber and tanker crews and for the opening scene with the Brigadier General boarding the SAC flying Command Post.
