I must duly warn some in my viewership that this is a film about a New Yorker and that this film contains a lot of Nuyorkese. This is to say that if you can’t be hearing dirty words, then just skip this comedy piece.
This hysterical film was hastily produced because its creators did not believe that Donald Trump’s candidacy would last very long.
Turns out that they were wrong and there was lots of time to make this hysterical feature-length film, starring Johnny Depp as Trump – drawing upon and outdoing his own performance in ‘Black Mass’ (2015), in which he portrayed the fair-complected and balding Boston Irish mobster, Whitey Bulger and demonstrating again, his time-tested ability to stay in character with an increasing poundage of fantastical wardrobe and make-up; this time, in a fatsuit with astonishingly Trump-like prosthetics.
The film also features Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, Christopher Lloyd, Michaela Watkins and Jack McBrayer, among others.
The time-traveling optical-style opening graphics take you right back to the mid-’80s, with a driving theme song brayed, as only the likes of Kenny Loggins could ever do.
Naturally, the opening credits read: Starring Donald J. Trump, Produced by Donald J. Trump, Written by Donald J. Trump, Music by Donald J. Trump and Directed by Donald J. Trump…enjoy!
