At the Senate Judiciary Hearing on Tuesday, Ted Cruz questioned Jill Sanborn, Assistant Director for the Counterterrorism Division of the FBI about whether there were FBI informants present on January 6th.
He asked her about Ray Epps, who became “internet famous” last October, due to a blockbuster investigative report by Darren Beattie of Revolver.News, which pointed out that there were the upwards of 20 unindicted co-conspirators in the 1/6 indictments who have not been charged for the same activities — in some cases, more severe activities — as those named alongside them in the indictments. Beattie believes these individuals were not indicted due to grants of immunity, because they are either federal agents or assets.
The Counterterrorism Division is where much of the Russia collusion hoax that thwarted Donald Trump’s presidency was cooked up. Sanborn was appointed last May to the position once held by Bill Priestap, who opened the Crossfire Hurricane investigation into Trump, et al.
Andy McCabe and Peter Strzok worked at times in this dirty tricks division and Patrick Byrne claims that he was under their direct supervision, along with Bill Priestap and James Comey when he was ordered to blackmail Hillary Clinton.
Increasingly, it appears that this division, which works closely with the CIA may have been responsible for orchestrating the January 6th false flag operation. It also appears that it will be the home of the FBI’s new Domestic Terrorism Unit, which was formed by Attorney General Merrick Garland for the purpose of criminalizing over half the US population.
Cruz asked Sanborn, “How many FBI agents or confidential informants actively participated in the events of January 6th?” and “Who is Ray Epps?” and the effect of her robotic evasions was fairly self-incriminating.
Cruz said, “There are a lot of people understandably very concerned by Mr Epps. On the night of January 5th, 2021, Epps wandered around the crowd that gathered and there’s video out there of him chanting, “Tomorrow, we need to get into the Capitol, into the Capitol!” This was strange behavior, so strange that the crowd began chanting, “Fed! Fed! Fed! Fed! Fed! Fed! Ms Sanborn, is Ray Epps a Fed?”
“Sir, I cannot answer that question,” she replied.
“The next day, on January 6th,” Cruz continued, “Mr Epps is seen whispering to a person and five seconds later, five seconds after he’s whispering to a person, that same person begins to forcibly tear down the barricades. Did Mr Epps urge them to tear down the barricades?”
“Sir, similar to the other answers, I cannot answer that,” she said.
“Shortly thereafter, the FBI put out a public post, seeking information on individuals connected with violent crimes on January 6th. Among those individuals on the bottom, there is Mr Epps. The FBI publicly asked for information, identifying, offering cash rewards…for information leading to the arrest. This was posted and then, sometime later, magically, Mr Epps disappeared from the public posting.
“According to public records, Mr Epps has not been charged with anything, no one’s explained why a person videoed, urging people to go to the Capitol, a person whose conduct was so suspect, the crowd believed he was a Fed, would magically disappear from the list of people the FBI was looking at.
“Ms Sanborn, a lot of Americans are concerned that the Federal Government deliberately encouraged illegal and violent conduct on January 6th. My question to you – and this is not an ordinary law enforcement question. This is a question of public accountability: Did Federal Agents or those in service of Federal Agents actively encourage violent and criminal conduct on January 6th?”
“Not to my knowledge, Sir,” she replied.
After the hearing, the self-described “9/11-style” January 6th Commission fell over itself, tweeting, “The Select Committee is aware of unsupported claims that Ray Epps was an FBI informant based on the fact that he was on the FBI Wanted list and then was removed from that list without being charged. The Committee has interviewed Epps. Epps informed us that he was not employed by, working with, or acting at the direction of any law enforcement agency on Jan 5th or 6th or at any other time, & that he has never been an informant for the FBI or any other law enforcement agency.”
Oh, so Epps says he wasn’t an FBI informant. Therefore, case closed!
Referring to a tweet reiterating the above from January 6th Commission member, Adam Kinzinger, Joe Kent, a retired Green Beret who is running for a seat in the 3rd Congressional District of Washington tweeted, “The FBI wanted list was likely compiled by an analyst who didn’t have knowledge of who was an FBI source, source ops are compartmentalized for security. Once Epps drew attention he was likely removed in attempt to conceal his status. Adam has no idea how intel ops works.”
