It is only a film, but it represents the mindset and the politics of the most forward-thinking aspects of American society at that time – a good 15 years before the Hippy and anti-Vietnam movements transformed mainstream American society forever – for better or for worse.
I would love whatever that has dragged the US down from this forward-looking, egalitarian place to be expunged from the body politic of of the United States of America, so help me God.
