Congressman Maurício Marcon from Brazil's southernmost state of Rio Grande do Sul and from Flávio Bolsonaro's Liberal Party (which is actually Center-Right) intensifies his criticism of Alexandre de Moraes following the right-wing advance in the 2026 elections, stating that "impeachment is not enough" for the Supreme Court Justice.
Marcon discusses the new strength of the right wing in the Senate and Congress, the dispute between Flávio Bolsonaro and Lula, and what may change after the elections.
Marcon also explains the overall right-wing advance and Flávio Bolsonaro's performance against Lula.
The parliamentarian also talks about Alexandre de Moraes and the Supreme Court, relating the new political composition of the Senate to the possibilities of pressure on Supreme Court justices and defending measures that go beyond a possible impeachment process.
PARTIAL TRANSCRIPT
What Alexandre de Moraes did today just shows what a psychopath he is, right? He kept this woman unjustly imprisoned for two years—effectively held captive. She had been under house arrest; a person who worked her whole life, a person with two young boys.
As someone with a young daughter myself, I know how much I’d be missed at home. Just imagine the mother—or if my wife were gone. So now, seeing that, impeachment is far too little for Alexandre de Moraes... Impeachment isn't enough. We are going to push for prison time for Alexandre de Moraes. He deserves to pay for the crimes and atrocities he has committed...
Tomorrow, we’ll actually be in Brasília; a meeting has been called by President Valdemar together with Flávio Bolsonaro. We’ll have the
newly elected senators, federal deputies, and governors there. I even joked that this meeting should be held at a massive rally, since the number of elected officials is so large; we’re going to hold a huge meeting to lay the groundwork and align our message so we can secure a major victory on the 25th.
And then, the ones who won't be sleeping this time around will be Alexandre de Moraes and his cronies—people who have committed so many crimes against innocent citizens over the past few years.
