I received this urgent notice from my friends, Krys and Steve Crimi, of Logosophia Books who also live in Asheville:

Our friend Marnie sent us this plea today. If you don’t live in this area there is no way I can convey in an email the level of suffering and destruction families in WNC are enduring. It is frigid tonight with high winds and families with small children are still using tents for shelter. Unthinkable.

Please watch the short video and see if there is any way you can contribute to ease their suffering. Watching this ripped us up. There are choices for contacts in the thread below.

Please watch the video. Sharing it would also be appreciated.

Marnie: Folks around the country STILL do not know how DIRE this ongoing catastrophe is. Please send this video far and wide so the citizenry of this whole country is aware and actively asking, “What is Going On?” Thanks

HERE’S WHAT FOLKS ARE GOING THROUGH RIGHT NOW!

Wayne Allred, Deep River Farm: “It’s cold and snowing tonight in the mountains of Western NC. Winds could reach 60 mph. Heaters are all gone from Bethel Wesleyan in Flat Rock.

“110 have been delivered and taken to the satellite distribution sites in Burnsville, Bakersville and Red Hill since November 2nd. Mayday for heaters!”

Recall, that the Congressional Oversight Committee revealed FEMA is giving illegal migrants over $10,000 dollars while offering Hurricane Helene Victims $750 and that a FEMA whistleblower has come forward to confess that institutionally, the leadership of FEMA is overtly and actively malicious towards American Citizens who support the Presidency of Donald Trump.

  • FEMA should be well and truly gutted. Hell, ALL the alphabet agencies should. They do NOT have the best interests of their constituents at heart! FEMA has become a huge racket. They charge ungodly rates for windstorm insurance along the Gulf Coast, yet don’t have enough to cover a single storm’s aftermath. Shameful. And hearing through the grapevine anecdotes of the hostility towards the US populace makes me want to vomit. This is Josef Mengele/Josef Goebbels-type stuff we’re talking about here. May God bless those that have helped, and may he damn to Hell those who have participated in the selective denial of basic humanitarian aid to OUR OWN PEOPLE, based on who they suspect they voted for.
I am not well-off, by any means, but I sure will be donating a heater in just a few minutes! I hope it brings comfort and relief to someone affected by these catastrophic floods. If we can’t stand up for each other, we fall together. And THAT is their plan…let’s come together and prevent this from happening!

  • This is showing the discrimination of FEMA toward rural America. In New Mexico there was a huge fire up in the mountains a couple years ago. Largest fire in state history consumed homes. The folks there have still been waiting for assistance even though Congress sent the money.
The area is known as Mora. The documentary is Mora Burning by award winning director David Luis Cortez.

  • Channel WTTW 11 in Chicago IL said on channel 11 news last night the young adults and kids 2 months after hurricane Helene still show signs of PTSD post traumatic stress disorder….

In 2023 the Biden administration spent Sixty Six Billion Dollars on illegal immigrants 66 billion dollars on illegal immigrants……
    And
In 2023 the Biden administration spent only three billion dollars on the American homeless and
    American military veterans combined…
Only 3 billion dollars on our own people….

  • How about others open their homes to them nearby?? Ever think of that?? What is the Issue with people ?? Churches can open their doors.. That what they are for, wt heck is wrong with you people? Shame on you pastors for not standing in the gap shame on you all!!

    • @Ghost Hunter

I’m going to assume and I’m aware people shouldn’t assume ,
But you must very young or no one ever taught you how Churches were open 24 hours back in the day by 1975 Churches in the united states closed their doors only to be open for church service on Sunday or bible class on Wednesday or some type of church service….
Before 1975 I remember it I lived through it churches were open 24 hours and homeless folks were allowed and welcomed to sleep in the church on the pews , mist churches were not monitored, with no staff around little by little , things got stolen and insurance companies were tired if reimbursement of stolen goods and 1 day the Federal Government was Tired of hearing both sides argue , 1 side the churches saying we didn’t steal it , we didn’t lose it , while still letting homeless folks sleep in the churches ,
The insurance companies would say it’s either the homeless or church staff stealing the coins from donation boxes , the candles went missing , cloths for alters , priests clothes in some cases even ,
Well after awhile the federal government asked the American united states public how do we solve this problem ????
By late 1974 Early 1975 the public throughout the united states said: We The Public Close & Lock our doors then the public said: Why can’t the church lick it’s doors ????
The rest is history , no more homeless sleeping in churches , insurance companies happy no longer reimbursing for stolen goods , and
The Public drifted father away from God & Jesus ,,

    • People are asking what kind of heaters to send. Here is a selection of propane heaters from Amazon, which may be the best immediate solution for these people stranded on the mountainside. Here’s a selection from Home Depot, which one commenter said, they will charitably ship free, so you might have to deal with Home Depot customer service to do that.

The above heaters require propane fuel, as well.

Longer term, if these people are committed to staying on their properties and if they will not check into any government- or international NGO-run facility, especially because it has now been confirmed that these government workers are demonstrably hostile to American Citizens, this wood-burning stove may be a better solution. There’s a lot of brush and a lot of wood in this part of the world, so this could really be a good longer-term heating method than dealing with cans of propane.

This stove is meant for use in tents. It needs to be cured by burning outdoors first, before bringing indoors or inside a tent, in order to burn-off the residue on the surface of the metal.

I actually bought the stove above, myself for only $82 and I’m currently curing it on my little deck with easy-light briquettes (I’m using the cheaper, local grocery store brand) and my whole apartment was smelling like butane from the briquettes, until I added all the chimney pieces, so that the smoke blows above the sliding door from my living room to my deck.

A bonus with this little wood-burning stove is that you could definitely fry and egg and heat up some coffee or canned/frozen food on the flat top.

The reason I bought this was with the hope that, should we have another outage and emergency, I’ll be able to stick this stove halfway into my fireplace, with the stove pipe going up the fireplace chimney, so we can heat the apartment with (non-butane-infused) briquettes and/or wood, if need be – and even heat up some food, as well.

We’ll also have the propane cooktop and the power bank and the gas-fueled electric generator. Fuel conservation and diversification are key in these situations.

I’ve now lived through so many of these events, now that I’ve gone semi-pro!

Fool me once. We Won’t Get Fooled Again!
