I had to search the internet to ensure that this is the same Derry I am familiar with. At first, I thought it was somewhere in South Africa. Country, where Black racism is nowadays rampant and permitted by government. Turns out, it is ole Ireland.
Seems that she was nominated by a political party, not elected. Political party is a group of people who think that they have birth right priority to govern other groups of people. This concept is relatively new in human history, dating less then two centuries.
