‘Laughing with Hitler’ looks at how satire and jokes at Hitler’s expense were to some degree encouraged as the German dictator came into power — before gradually, anything deemed “subversive” was squeezed out, and telling such jokes gradually became more and more dangerous. Still not funny to some, this film is about humor as weapon.
