The cuttlefish are the Kings of Camouflage, leaving chameleons as a very distant second – at best.
Their ability to change the texture and color of their skin is simply unmatched by any other animal, including those of their cousins; octopuses and squid, who share some of their talents.
It’s hard not to think that a vast intelligence lurks beneath the constantly-changing gelatinous folds of this invertebrate mollusk.
