Elite military units are conducting drills on the streets of Broward County, Fla., raising alarm about summer exercises, called JADE HELM 15, in which the Army Special Operations Command says it will be participating throughout the American Southwest.

An unclassified Army presentation says JADE HELM 15 will afford elite units from across the armed services the “opportunity to work with civilians to gain their trust,” “hone advanced skills” and “conduct suspicious activities designed to prepare [soldiers] for complex environments overseas.”

To conduct these realistic military training operations, the Army “seeks a written invitation … from local officials,” whom they’re hoping will be attracted to the six-figure financial injections the Army says JADE HELM 15 will make into small, rural towns.
