‘Geostorm’, scheduled for release on October 20, 2017 is the next mega-disaster p0rn film produced by the same team that brought us ‘Independence Day’ and ‘Stargate’. The project has been beset by many problems, including $15m in re-shoots and having its release date pushed back several times.
‘Geostorm’ stars Gerard Butler, Abbie Cornish, Alexandra Lara, Ed Harris and Andy García and it’s about a satellite designer in the dystopian near future who tries to save the world from a storm of epic proportions caused by climate-controlling satellites, when these malfunction. Gerard Butler’s character heads into space to prevent the satellites from creating a ‘Geostorm’, composed of deadly natural disasters, such as huge tornadoes, colossal tsunamis, sudden release of fire whirls from the ground, fiery, scorching heat, shattering thunderstorms, dangerous falling massive hailstones, and polar vortices that spring up out of nowhere, all over the world.
Is it predictive programming? Who knows. It promises to be pretty idiotic but if you enjoy watching expensive CGI, it might be fun.
