To speak the truth ex-CIA officer Robert Steele was very brave. Secret intelligence is costing the taxpayer $60 billion each year. For that we’re getting less than 10 percent of what we need to know.
While using open-source intelligence — if adopted by the U.s. government as it has been in 40 other countries — would serve the public interest, it’s not used. Why? Because it just isn’t profitable.
The “Beltway Bandits” like secret intelligence because they don’t want accountability.
