Naomi, like myself is an old fashioned thinking liberal.
This is rare, very rare today. There is plenty of room for diversity, the world is not running out of it. They sky is not falling. The end is not near unless we allow the loons to make it happen.
Loons are loons, who knows what snakes are in their heads? We must keep their hands off the levers of power.
Personally, I do not celebrate Christmas, though I believe in the testimony of the Christian scriptures, but I don’t judge those who do. We all have our reasons and we ought to respect that and get along with each other. We can disagree without being disagreeable, or worse.
Naomi recognizes how fragile freedom really is. We’ve got to deliberately hang onto it, because the minute you relax your grip on it, it begins to slip out of your grasp. It’s not up to George, it’s up to everyone to consciously do what we are able to hang on to it. Every day!
For over a half century I have done something to reinforce defenses of liberty every day. Watching television is a monstrous waste of time! Each of us has the same allotment of time. It’s what we do with it that makes a difference. Collectively it makes a huge difference.

Rick, I think what I failed to communicate was that I am a Biblical liberal which all believers ought to be. That needs to be unwrapped, but not here, not appropriate. But I will add two clarifiers, judging by that which Jesus defined as currently practiced, not digging up the past unless it’s relevant to the present. We’ve all said and done things we later regret, so I take people like Naomi at their current word and I do know what she used to say. Forgiveness is a liberal virtue.
