This film interviews scholars who specialize in the origins of Christianity and it is based on the book, ‘Caesar’s Messiah’ by Joseph Atwill, which sets about to prove that the Gospels were written at the behest of the ruling Flavian Dynasty of Rome by their Jewish allies who were fluent with Judaism but whose values were Roman, as wealthy Jewish representatives of the Roman government.

The end result of the Gospels, they say, was the production of a new religion, which was also a form of Roman propaganda.

This is not to say that the Gospels were not informed by sound, ethical teachings from Judaism and from the Stoic philosophy espoused by the Flavian Dynasty but that they were ultimately about controlling the masses in a whole new, Statist way.

As for the historical figure of Jesus, the scholars claim that there is no archeological evidence that such an individual existed but more likely, that the character was a composite of several Jewish prophets during the time of the Jewish-Roman War, who were crucified for their seditious, anti-Roman activities.

The author of ‘Caesar’s Messiah’ also says that the Jesus of the Gospels made very specific prophecies which all came true within 40 years (because the book, itself was claiming to have been written a generation earlier, during the Claudian Dynasty of Rome) and that the prophecy about the The Son of Man, which many associate with the Second Coming of the Messiah was very detailed in its description of what the Messiah would do: saying that he would destroy the cities of Galilee and completely raze the Temple of the Mount and build a wall around it – all of which had been achieved by the Roman General and son of the Roman Emperor, Titus Flavius, who became the ultimate victor in that long uprising of the Jews against the Roman Empire.

Therefore, according to the prophecy of the Biblical Jesus, says Jospeh Atwill, The Son of Man had already arrived by the time the Gospels were written – and his name was Titus Flavius.

Please, please, please – this broadcast does not constitute any attempt to discredit the world’s largest religion or Christianity, itself, in any way, shape or form.

It is being broadcast because it presents a fascinating and compelling alternative history of the origins of the Catholic Church. If you do not have too much invested in your own interpretation of the New Testament and are curious about alternative views of history, you will probably enjoy this film. If you are the type of person who views anything that deviates from your beliefs to be a “sacrilege,” I suggest that you sit this one out.
