JAG stands for Judge Advocate General.
The Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG Corps) is the legal branch of each military service, providing legal services to the military and its members. JAG officers, also known as judge advocates, are military lawyers who handle a wide range of legal matters, including military justice, administrative law, and legal assistance.
It is well established in international conventions and US federal case law that you have to claim asylum in the first safe country. Mexico is such for all folks south of their border. There are quite a few safe countries between Mozambique and Panama, before we even consider Mexico. Even in case of an Indian fraudster, a NJ judge said he can move to any other safe state within India with no problem, before applying in US (after 3 years vacation and just before being shipped back). Thus, judges should concentrate on one test priority: did applicant skip safe country in between US and his/her origin point? There is no need to waste time on entertaining subsequent claims. Once applicant fails first fundamental test, case is closed.
