Vice science editor Hamilton Morris has decided to celebrate the Netherland’s “Queen’s Day” by taking psilocybin truffles. These psychedelics — among other psychoactives — are legal in Amsterdam.
In 2008, though, the Dutch government responded to highly publicized deaths and banned the psychedelic mushroom. Why did the Netherlands ban the mushroom and not the magic truffle?
