There is no denying that psychological and emotional problems can affect most anyone.
Does this mean we are all insane?
What causes distress? Early crackpot psychiatrists thought it was an imbalance of the humors, curable only by bleeding patients.
Others thought that the spleen, the stomach or the spleen caused these issues — triggering psychologists to remove them entirely.
Today psychiatrists say that using pills to balance brain chemistry is the solution. Did they get it right this time around?
