The Logistics of Getting Man to Mars

Space travel is not simple.

The moon was easy relatively because it’s so close. But going to Mars would be relatively very difficult because planets are not on the same orbit. Mars takes more than 680 days to travel around the sun.

If we want to send a crew to Mars, we have to wait until the planets align — meaning a three and a half month journey there.

It looks like a manned mission to Mars, practically, would mean a two-year stay on the red planet.
