In cities, traffic lights are among the most dangerous spots. A company called smart wanted to see if it could make waiting at them more likely and more fun for pedestrians. Its technology captured the motions of dancers in a remote booth and used the motions to control the traditional red stop man on a traffic light, much to the delight of pedestrians, who were substantially more likely to not risk a busy crosswalk.
