Many say that humanity is approaching an apex of technological and human achievement, what they call the singularity. Sometime in the 21st century, when supercomputing capacity rivals that of the brain, the process will be complete.
As this culmination approaches, humanity’s situation will become more and more dire. The species’ survival will come to a tipping point, at which humans will either transcend or go extinct.
