A website called “Silk Road” is offering the purchase of large amounts of illicit narcotics discretely. The website has thousands of members.

A new digital currency called bitcoins is enabling an entire undercover economic world. The sellers are being very forward about the riskiness of these products, all while trumpeting their own “professionalism.”

The administrator of Silk Road sees his website as sidestepping a lot of the violence and danger that normally accompanies the drug trade.
