For 400 million years, sharks have dominated the Earth’s oceans. They have survived 5 planetary mass extinctions to become the top predators of the sea, honed to an evolutionary perfection.
Over the past week alone, there have been 5 shark attacks along the coasts of the Carolinas, 11 since mid-May, resulting in serious injuries and the loss, by two teens
of one of their arms.
This National Geographic program attempts to ascertain what makes the three species of shark to attack humans the most and what kinds of areas are their preferred haunts.
