This robot hummingbird is flying with the assistance of an infrared remote control. Weighing in at just 2.6 grams, the hummingbird can fly for up to 6 minutes, 10 meters above the ground.
Just a few more stages of development will allow it to take pictures with a tiny camera as it climbs through the air.
Hau Liu, the mechanics professor behind it, envisions its use in emergency scenarios. Its partner is the “robofly,” developed in the United States.
