Warren Jeffs, the leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, went to prison for having sex with minors. Jeffs’ religious beliefs dictate to him that not only is polygamy morally kept — but also that laws banning sex with minors are as well.
In what would appear to be a form of protest, Jeffs issued to his followers an edict that — as long as he remains in prison — they should neither conceive children or have sex.
The apocalypse, alleges Jeffs, is imminent.
