740 Park Ave, New York City, is home to some of the wealthiest Americans. Across the Harlem River, 10 minutes to the north, is the other Park Avenue in South Bronx, where more than half the population needs food stamps and children are 20 times more likely to die violent deaths.

But the US is still the land of opportunity. After all, co-founder of the world-renowned luxury brand, Ralph Lauren (nee Lipshitz) was born in the Bronx and now both his business empire and he, personally own a massive inventory of valuable real estate in the most desirable places all over the Earth, including several locations in Manhattan.

But in the last 30 years, inequality has rocketed in the US. What are the chances today that another Ralph Lauren could be born in the Bronx and experience the proverbial American Dream?

The filmmakers argue that these chances have become increasingly slim, as the super-rich denizens of Park Ave. haven’t just bought the exclusive addresses – they’ve bought the whole system and they’re running it for themselves.
