Obama: “We’re Training ISIL”

The WhiteHouse.gov website has corrected what was either an embarrassing mistake or a moment of stark honesty, in President Obama’s recent press briefing about the Islamic State, when the President said that US forces were “training ISIL.”

The official transcript of the press conference was changed to:

“So, with the additional steps I ordered last month, we’re speeding up training of ISIL [Iraqi] forces, including volunteers from Sunni tribes in Anbar Province.”

Thanks to a February 2015 CNN interview with Gen. Wesley Clarke (Ret.), it was already publicly confirmed that “our friends and allies funded ISIS,” and with humanitarian aid from the US, UK and UN allegedly designated for Syrians displaced from their hometowns being airdropped into ISIS-controlled areas, it’s perfectly understandable why Obama would make such a revealing “mistake”…
