The name of this film is “Aotearoa.” It is a word derived from the indigenous peoples of New Zealand, the Maori. Today only 60,000 are still native speakers.

New Zealand’s beauty is famous — so much so that it served as the primary backdrop for Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. As the name of this clip would suggest, its natural wonders seem to harken back to a purer, less adultered, simpler pre-industrial world.
