This classy show is produced by the one of the most prestigious names in science publishing. The discovery of the Antikythera Mechanism recalibrated modern understanding of ancient Greece.
The inscriptions on the mechanism are mind-boggling. Using tomography software, these scientists were slicing apart the mechanism in order to make out the text. The names of the months identify possible places where the mechanism might have been manufacted and, possibly, where it was meant to be used.
